and unique Druze villages in the mountains of Carmel to Haifa, Israel’s northern
port city.

mysticism, where we will visit the ancient synagogues, narrow alleyways, unique
art galleries and the artists’ colony. We will continue to the Golan Heights to
see the former Syrian bunkers, Kuneitra and the new Israeli town of Katzrin, and
hear the stories and complexities of modern day Israel. We start the day with a visit of Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee. We then drive to Capernaum to see the ruins of
the synagogue and octagonal church of St. Peter and then continue to Nazareth
where we will visit the church of the Annunciation. We drive via Beit Shean, the
largest archaeological site in Israel, to Beit Alpha to see the impressive
remains of the Byzantine mosaic floor of an ancient synagogue depicting the
zodiac. Driving through the Jordan valley we enter Jerusalem from the east. Wednesday - Old Jerusalem We will visit the tomb of King David
and the room of the Last Supper on Mt. Zion. We will enter the walled city and

Dolorosa to the church of the Holy Sepulchre, we will proceed to Mount Scopus
and then to the Mount of Olives for a magnificent panoramic view of the Old
City. We can continue to Bethlehem (optional – time permitting), to visit
Rachel’s Tomb and the Church of the Nativity. We will drive to the Hadassah Medical Center in Ein
Kerem to see the impressive Chagall stained glass windows and explore this
charming neighborhood. We will continue to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the
Holocaust, and then proceed to the Israel Museum; We will see the Shrine of the
Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed and the miniature model of Jerusalem
as it was during the second temple period 2000 years ago. We will also visit the
Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, and the Givat Ram Campus of the Hebrew University. Friday - Qumran, Masada, Dead Sea We start the day by driving
through the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, almost
1300 feet (400 meters) below sea level. We will stop at Qumeran to visit the
site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We will drive along the shores of
the Dead Sea to Masada, then ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress
where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans before committing
mass suicide, choosing death over capture. We will descend by cable car and time
and weather permitting, we will have an opportunity to float on the Dead Sea. This is a day for you to roam the streets of Jerusalem
and breath the atmosphere and aromas of the markets on your own. You have the morning and/or afternoon for a leisurely time in the city and then we will pick you up and drive you back to the airport for your flight home. We part ways at the airport – until next time…
