Information on Shore Excursions in Israel

Find all the information you need on taking day tours from the ports of Haifa and Ashdod in Israel

What is the difference between a private tour and a semi-private or small group tour?

The private tour is a guided trip done only for your party of friends/family.  You will not share the vehicle or guide with anyone else.

The small group tour (or semi-private tour as we like to refer to it) is a minivan, van, or minibus tour for a small group - but comprised of more than one party traveling.  The participants can be couples, friends, or families which make up a small group together.  We have semi-private tours of 4 persons, 6-10 persons or 12-18 persons.

The cost per person is always lower than the prices charged by the ship for the big bus tours and the quality of the tour cannot be compared.  Our small group tours are high-quality personal tours and we cover much more during the day than what is available through the ship.

* If you are a party of 2-4 persons touring, the semi-private tours are the perfect way to enjoy a very high-quality shore excursion in Israel at a very good price.

Where will you meet us? Will you be waiting for us at the port?

We will meet you at the port JUST OUTSIDE THE SHIP.  We have a special permit that allows us access to the port so we can meet you inside the port just as you exit the ship.  We will hold a sign with your name on it so you can easily find us as you come out of the ship.

Please note! Do not be persuaded by the taxi drivers that you must take a taxi outside of the port to meet the guide.  We have special access to the ports and we will meet you inside the port as you exit the ship.  Some companies do not have access to the port and require the visitors to take a taxi to meet them - this is not the case when you book with us.

Why are your tours better than the ones offered by the ship?

In essence - our tours are higher quality and less expensive!  We tour in small groups only making the experience much more personal.  You don't have to wait for 30 minutes for everyone to embark and disembark from the bus at each stop.  You don't have to wait in never-ending queues at the sights either.  We are much more flexible when it comes to the itinerary, pace of touring, duration of stay in each place, time and length of lunch, etc.   We don't tour with a megaphone and our approach is very personal and flexible.  We cater to your needs at the highest level of customer care from start to finish.

Is your van air-conditioned?

All the vehicles we use are new and equipped with the best features available for touring in Europe.  This of course means that the vehicle will be air-conditioned, clean, and with very comfortable and spacious seating, even by high American standards.

Is the guide certified?

The guides are all certified and licensed by the ministry of tourism.  More important, they are very knowledgeable, caring, and friendly.

Will we be back in time for departure?  We really can't afford to be late...

Always - without exception!  We have never been late or even close to being late - not even once.  There is absolutely no room for mistakes when it comes to bringing you back to the ship in time for departure so you can rest assure that you will be back onboard and ready for sailing at the end of a wonderful day tour in Israel.

How long will my shore excursion be?

We normally tour for approximately 9-10 hours per day.  In special circumstances and if the sailing times allow for it, tours can be extended or made shorter if requested.

How can I pay for the tours?

You can either pay with your credit card online prior to touring or if you prefer you can pay in cash AFTER the tour is done and you are back at the harbor.  Payments are in either US currency, Euros, or Israeli Shekels.  If you are paying with your card, you can use American Express and the charge will be in US currency.

It sounds great - can I book now?

You can reserve your dates online and you do not need to provide any credit card details at this stage.  Use this link and scroll to the bottom of the page to send us a request and we will email you back promptly with availability and prices.

Thank you very much and we look forward to seeing you in Israel soon.
